Hi Guys 🙂 This is a look at the RCA CD2500E Seven Segment Display Driver IC. It could date as far back as the mid 70’s. Some of this project will be ongoing to test other vintage chips. Enjoy!

    Oops! Common anode/cathode mixup! Ha ha! I guess you have to get your brain thinking like a designer from 40 years ago too!

    I used to work with those flatpacks, still have the Weller tip to solder them as well, though it is on a cheap clone iron now. Just remember they have non standard power supply pins, not top and bottom, but in the middle of the leads. Think I still have some PM5474's and others around somewhere as well in a box, i did replace a lot of them.
