Good video. I have a lot of experience with VHS/VCR growing up in the 80s and 90s but not used in a while. Hooked up an old vcr/DVD combo to my older box tv there and my DVD is working fine, but I get no picture with my vhs/vcr, only sound? Wondering what combination I have wrong ?

I would bet before you made this video you got a bunch of returns on perfectly functioning machines . I think I will stop including component wires . I do this to compete .

I have a Toshiba DVD/VCR combo, and tried what you said. It plays DVDs (and CDs) and it plays VHS tapes, but I cannot record blank VHS tapes from the TV. A VCR is supposed to record as well as play, that is what the R in VCR stands for, after all. I wish you would address this problem. There are many videos on YouTube that show how to hook up a VCR, but no one seems to mention what you have to do to get the VCR to record from theTV.
