Electronics Tutorial 5 – Transistors

Electronics Tutorial 5 - Transistors

Welcome to the next video in the series of electronics tutorials. In this video we will explore the Transistor. We will explore the two common types of transistor, The NPN and PNP. We will look at the how they work in a circuit and how we calculate the required components for switching applications. To demonstrate the circuits we will use the software called EveryCircuit. With kind thanks to Igor for permission to use the software in this and future tutorials. EveryCircuit is available at www.everycircuit.com

hey Jenko my name is William Santiago thanks for the information that you have given us of transistor, i think something went wrong when you use the formula of Beta.the Ib =.0002 is equal to 200µA instead of 2mA. tell me if im wrong thanks again,

the circuit doesn't seem to work for me when I recreated it exactly as is

Jenko002, thank you so much for the clear, concise explanations. I've watched a bunch of others on the same subject, but now I think I actually understand it! I hope you'll continue to make more in the future.

Hi. I see where to get beta from (hfe) but how do we find reverse beta, emitter resistance, collector resistance, base resistance, and saturation current? Ive been looking in several data sheets but am not fully able to map each one to a value in the data sheets. My circuit does have resistors for the base, collector, and emitter but I would think the app would know these values since it sees it (everycircuit.com). Or do I still need to key in the values within the transistor settings? thanks!

Great work sir. Thanks a lot for these videos. I was looking for videos on use of 7 segment display in every circuit . I would appriciate if you could add a tutorial on that.

Hi! Great Vids! I've been looking for such great tutorials for about 3 years and finally have found. The only thing which sometimes makes uncomfortable is your specific dialect of English. I wonder what it is.

I want to make a voltage regulator, I want to use LM7805 or LM78XX series transistor, but how do I use this in everycircuit? what is it's Beta value? where do I find this? please help me.

Hi, Do you know if there is a way to explicitly move the wires (using Every Circuit)? I guess that is not possible with the current version

Hi, I have noted that the Intensity varies if the resistor 150 Omh resistor is "after" or before "collector", could you please explain the reason ? and if possible how to calculate that. Thanks!

I hope you will do more electronic tutorials like this in near future. Thanks for the great tutorials on EveryCircuit. Since yesterday, I have learned off your 5 tutorials and will watch more this evening.
